50 married women complete Qur’an memorisation in Kano

A reception was organised in honour of some married women who completed the memorisation of Holy Qur’an in Kano on Tuesday.

During the reception, an Islamic scholar, Alhaji Umar Jinjiri-Ibrahim, commended the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for constructing of eight classrooms at Adakawa Primary School in Dala Local Government area of Kano State.

The scholar, who is the Proprietor of Adakawa Married Women Islamiyya School operating at the school, said that the classrooms were donated recently by NPA.

He urged wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to emulate NPA by providing the necessary support to schools, to contribute their quota toward the development of education in the country.

He invited Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje to visit the school and inaugurate the classrooms so that they could be put to use.

“We are using this opportunity to call on Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje to come and inaugurate the eight new classrooms donated by the NPA.”

He also commended the state chairman of the Pension board, Alhaji Sani Dawakin Gabasawa, for paying registration fees for 50 students.

He said the school for married women which started with 61 students 14 years ago, had more than 200 students now.

According to him, the state Deputy Governor, Dr Nasiru Gawuna, had also donated 200 Hijab (veils) for distribution to the students.
