Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI), Agege Zone has inaugurated youths into its National Youth Development Scheme.
Among the youth inaugurated were students who just concluded their secondary school education, prospective undergraduates and students from higher institutions.
The 10th edition of the National Youth Development Scheme is a six months training course where youth will be trained on leadership skill, communication skills, religion development, citizenship education, health safety and environment tips as well as Information Communication Technology skills.
Speaking at the event, the Agege Zonal Co-ordinator of AEI, Prince Adesegun Ogungbayi, charged the participants to ask the basic questions, “who am I spiritually, economically, academically, morally and socially. It is the balanced of these five entity that make a first class personality”.
The programme also featured four first class students of University of Lagos who are the products of the past National Youth Development Scheme.
Ayoade Yusuf graduated with 4.86 Grade Point; Adebakin Yusuf K. with 4.64GP; Ibrahim Idris with 4.70GP and Liasu Aisha with 4.96 all of Electrical Electronics Department from University of Lagos.
“It is the hope that the inaugurated youth will become first class personalities in the future. At the end of the six months training the participants will be presented certificate of participation by the organization,” Ogungbayi said.
