The leadership of Anwar-ul-Islam Movement of Nigeria, has inaugurated a new Missionary Board and other ten Schools Boards of Governors for the spiritual and educational development of the foremost Islamic body.
Both boards were constituted by the National Executive Council of the movement last November.
The spiritual head, Chief Imam of the organisation, Sheikh Ahmad Yussuf led the 19 board missionary members.
In his inaugural address, the National President Barrister Mubashir Ojelade stated that the mandate of the Boards was to ensure the realisation of the main objective of the Movement both at the missionary and the educational levels.
He challenged the Missionary Board to give more positive direction to spiritual and religious activities in the movement, adding that the identity of the movement in terms of worship and supplication must be not be allowed to wane.
Also, inaugurating the boards of governors for all the schools of the Movement, Ojelade charged the new boards to put the movement back on track.
“An enormous responsibility is placed on all those now involved in the management of our Schools to arrest the decay and abuses and put the schools on the part of progress, respectability and profitability.
He stated that in spite of the challenges, “there is hope in the horizon, adding the zeal and enthusiasm so far shown by members to work for the Movement at the NEC, Committee and sub-Committee’s level was very re-assuring.
Alhaji Dr. AbdulLateef Jokomba who responded on behalf of the schools boards stated that with Allah’s guidance, the boards will deliver on the set mandate and put the Movement back on track.
