THE Chief Imam of Sabo Muslim Community Mosque, Alh. Daud Olalekan has enjoined Muslims to sustain the spirit of good neighbourliness as millions across the world bask in the euphoria of Ei’d-u-l-Adha.
He made this charge while delivering a sermon after a two-rakat prayer observed to mark this year’s Eid festival.
He noted that the wisdom behind the slaughtering of ram is to feed the needy and make every members of the household feel the happy and comfortable on the day.
Urging Muslims to celebrate with every lawful things Allah has provided, he said, “Always be cautious at all times. It’s a grievous sin to indulge in illicit acts on this type of day. Celebrate peacefully, do all the needful and sustain the act of giving charity.”
Alh. Daud however appealed to Muslim faithfuls to pray for Nigeria, the leaders and the nation’s declining economy.
