Bello made the call in a message to mark the 2018 Eid-el Fitr celebration.
He said that his administration would continue to work toward forging unity and harmonious co-existence among FCT residents, irrespective of religious beliefs and ethnic backgrounds.
According to him, peaceful coexistence is in line with the injunctions of the Holy Quran.
“FCT, as we all know, is a melting pot of all segments of the Nigerian population, and we take pride in our rich diversity,’’ he said.
He urged Muslims to always remember and keep the teachings of the Holy Quran.
He noted that Allah promised to reward His servants who observed Ramadan fast with sincerity.
Also in a message to mark the Eid-el-Fitr, a Lagos State legislator, Mr Tunde Braimoh, urged Muslims and other Nigerians to guard against hatred, intolerance and greed.
Braimoh, Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, said that Nigeria would be a better place if the citizens would eschew vices.
He said that although 2018 Ramadan had ended, the lessons of the season should not be lost.
The lawmaker, representing Kosofe Constituency II, said that lessons from Ramadan should be perpetual.
He said that the 30-day fast ought to have sufficiently inculcated virtues into Muslims as norms and values of life.
