The moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, so Sunday will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr, according to reports.




State news agency WAM reported that Sunday will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE.

Sky News and Al Arabiya reported that the moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Saturday evening. 

Several other countries, including Jordan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei, also reported sighting the moon. 


iWitness NG gathered that the Judicial Council of Saudi Arabia said since the moon of Shawwaal was sighted this evening, in Saudi Arabia, they have completed twenty nine (29) days of Ramadhaan (1438 A.H.), in accordance with the hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).p
