A chieftain of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya a.k.a MC Oluomo, has narrated how he escaped death after been stabbed.
MC Oluomo was attacked at All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Ikeja on January 8, and was immediately taken to Eko Hospital, after being stabbed in the neck and stomach.
After receiving treatment briefly in Nigeria, he was flown abroad.
The NURTW boss returned to Lagos on Wednesday January 30, after he was declared fit by his doctors.
He spoke at a special thanksgiving prayer held in his honour, at his residence in Ejigbo, Lagos.
The prayer had many Islamic clerics, thousands of friends, colleagues, and followers in attendance.
According to him, the incident made him realise the greatness of Allah and importance of a mother.
He said that he gained stability after being given Zamzam water with Suratul Al-Kahf recited in it.
He also promised to hold Islamic clerics in high esteem, hinting that one of them had to hurriedly travel to Makkah on his behalf.
Narrating how he escaped death, he said: “I thank God for keeping me alive, for not disappointing me. He didn’t make me a source of sorrow for people. I also thank my mother. I pray that she lives long to bear the fruit of her labour. I also thank my wives and mother for standing firm and ready to rescue me regardless of the requirement. My family really took a lot of serious steps on my behalf.
“I also thank Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support and his good legacies. May God grant him a long life. I thank Alhaji Najeemdeen Ismail Yaseen for his support. When I am in trouble, he is always ready to offer prayers and even travelled to Umurah, Mecca urgently on my behalf.
“I am the one that knows what happened to me. I know what I was stabbed with. I know what I went through. Till I die, I will never underrate any Alfa (Islamic cleric), no matter how small they are; because something happened that day when I was stabbed. I noticed that my throat was getting dry hurriedly.
“I now remembered an experience at a time that I went to Hajj – a healing was done with the Zam-Zam water. Since then, whenever I go to Hajj I ensure that I fetch the water myself and not buy it. I also ensure that at no point in time won’t I have the water and Holy Qur’an in my house or close-by.
“The day the incident happened, the first thing that I requested for was Zam-Zam water. I asked them to help me look for any Alfa and they should ask him to help me recite Suratul Kahf (a verse in the Holy Qur’an) inside the water. I later took the water and I noticed that I was getting a bit stable.
“I then learnt that there is no healing in this world except through Allah. If you have ever been in the kind of situation that I find myself, you will know that Allah is great.
“It was after I took the Zam-Zam water that I felt relieved and I started receiving other medications. It was after three days that I realised that I will survive. People were already carrying a rumour that I was dead. But I thank God for saving me.
“I thank Nigerians for their prayers. I pray that none of you will experience such an incident. I thank the Eko Hospital for their proactive-ness.”
The Well of Zamzam is a well located within the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, 20 m east of the Kabah, the holiest place in Islam.
Sheikh Muyideen Bello, who delivered a brief lecture at the event, warned Oluomo never to miss his salat again till he dies.
The Sheikh also cautioned him to erase every notion of avenging, saying that what happed to Oluomo is a warning from Allah.
Oluomo was also told to ensure that he was not involved directly or indirectly in the killing of anyone.
“Be conscious of the day of judgement. Don’t remember Allah only when death is close,” Sheikh Muyideen added.
