Three goups, on Wednesday in Kaduna commended the management of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for ensuring accountability in the running of Hajj operations in the country.
The groups, Youth Reformation and Leadership Skill Development Foundation, Salvage Nigeria Forum, and Good Governance And Anti Corruption Advocacy, made the commendation at a joint press conference in Kaduna.
Dr Auwwal Aliyu, who spoke on behalf  of the groups noted that the progressive innovations brought into Hajj operation have enhanced the image of Nigeria and its people.
They particularly appreciated the leadership role being played by NAHCON Chairman, Abdullahi Muktar since 2015, which ensured good governance and the protection of the rights of pilgrims.
According to them, the Commission had since keyed into President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti corruption crusade by ensuring due diligence and adhering to due process in its operations.
They urged the Federal Government to renew the mandate of the NAHCON management team including its chairman, in order to consolidate on the gains recorded so far.
