Hajj: 500 deposit part payment in Jigawa

The Executive Secretary of Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Ahmed Sani Alhassan, said over 500 intending pilgrims from the state have deposited part payment of N1million each for this year’s pilgrimage.

Alhassan, while addressing journalists in Dutse yesterday, said the state has already secured an accommodation close to Grand Mosque for the state’s contingent.

He said the state received an allocation of 2, 677 Hajj seats and that the number was higher than that of 2016, with 309 seats.

“The board has started collecting deposit of N1 million from intending pilgrims.

“We have distributed the seats to the 27 local government areas. A total of 517 intending pilgrims have so far paid their deposit of N1 million each,” he said.

He commended the state governor for his support to the board.
