HIJAB CASE IN LAGOS SCHOOLS: OUR UNITY IS OUR STRENGTH
We have come across various forms of reactions to the Deputy Governor’s utterances on the hijab matter. This must not derail us from the real issue. The unity of our Ummah must be held paramount even at the face of provocations.
Though painful, the Deputy Governor is a human who can err like anyone of us. In the process of dispensing our reactions therefore, we should imbibe the etiquettes of Islam and give room for necessary corrections on her part. We hope she takes the corrections and avoid such subsequently.
We need to remind ourselves that attack on personalities (specifically Muslims) will not guarantee the utmost purpose of our yearning; rather it strengthens the hope of our common enemy who are waiting to exploit the consequences of our weaknesses.
On behalf of all the Muslim Students in Lagos State, we appreciate the sincere support and concerns by entire Muslim Community in Lagos State and beyond. May Allah reward us abundantly. (Aamin).
In any way, we should not allow distractions towards the pursuit of our rights (especially that of hijab usage in schools). At the same time, we must be cautious of utterances and actions that can jeopardise the court process of permanently securing our rights.
PLEASE, LET’S REMAIN CALM! VICTORY IS FOR ISLAM INSHAA ALLAH.
