INTEREST-BASED banking has been identified as one of the major factors that caused the current economic challenge witnessed in Nigeria.

This was said during Eid prayer at Alhaji Salaudeen Oladejo Memorial Mosque, Close to FRSC HQ, Osogbo, Osun State.

Khutbah commenced at 9:10am after the prayer and lasted for about 45 minutes at the Eid ground.

The Imam said today was a great day for the Hujjaj, adding that they would combine a number of rites together.

Among other five causes of current economic recession that he mentioned is the unstable price of naira against the dollar.

” In 1980’s during the military regime of PMB, 1 dollar is 76kobo,” he said.

He further said that the solution to these problems lies only in Islam.

“We also should stop interest banking as any nation that involves he usury will not prosper,” he warned.

He urged parents to encourage their daughters to wear the hijab since the government have granted the right to wear it to school
