Jaiz Foundation on Thursday distributed zakat to needy Muslims in Lagos State.

The distribution is always done annually and this year is not an exception. A total of six million naira was distributed.

The event which took place at Surulere had different packages being distributed including health bill, educational supports to students in Lagos.

Among other items being distributed are industrial sewing machines, and laptop.

Meanwhile, important personalities were present which include the Grand Mufti of the conference of Islamic Organization, Sheikh Dhikrullah Shafii, Chief Missioner of Nawairu deen Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Tajudeen Uzamat, a retired broadcaster of NTA, and CEO of Talmot communication.

Furthermore, Sheik Shafii who was the lecturer of the day urged three people involved in zakat to be transparent.

“The payer of zakat who must pay zakat, the zakat worker must show integrity and not use the money for personal use, and the collector of zakat must use the money given to them adequately,” he added.

The CEO of Jaiz Foundation, Dr. (Imam) Abdullahi Shuaib, presented the various gift items to beneficiaries and told them to be steadfast with what they’ve been given.
