The annual national conference of the Jama’at Ta’awunnil Mulimeen has set out in Iwo, the headquarters of the Islamic organization with
focus on knowledge acquisition as a catalyst for sustainable development.
The President of the Islamic organization, Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan, while addressing a press conference in Iwo told journalists that necessary provision have been made to ensure that the conference is
hitch free.
Molaasan explained that the organization considers justice, equity and education pursuit as social normative that fell within the ambit of
the tenet of Islam and that the conference would dwell on them extensively.
He said the organisation has demonstrated its love education by establishing 36 Islamic schools to breach the illiteracy gap among
Muslims in Osun State and other parts of the country where it 55 branches has spread to.
Molaasan told newsmen that Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola,
Oyo State Governor, Senator Isiaka Ajimobi, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Akanbi, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul-Rasheed
Olabomi and the President of Osun State Muslim Community, Sheikh Salahudeen Olayiwola are among the dignitaries that would be at the conference.
He said the weeklong conference which would hold between 22nd and 29th
of December was designed to awaken Muslims to be alive to their
responsibility as agents of positive change for the betterment of the
society.
Molaasan noted that the recent wrangling among some members of the
organization has been resolved and commended the security agencies in
the state for nipping the crisis in the bud.
