Updated: Lagos Hijab Case Lead Counsel, Adetola-Kaseem, Is Dead

The lead counsel in the struggle to legalise the use of hijab by students in Lagos State, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Adetola-kaseem, SAN is dead.

The iWitness NG gathered that he died in the early hours of Monday.

Alhaji Adetola-Kaseem (SAN) is the lawyer in charge of the hijab victory in Lagos State  from High Court to Appeal Court.

He died this morning (Monday – 08/01/2018) at AB Specialist Hospital, Randle Street Surulere.

He will be buried according to Islamic rites at his home town at Igbe around Ijebu-Ode.

“Chief Gani Adetola-Kaseem (SAN) died this morning. Burial of Chief Gani Adetola-Kaseem SAN is at Egbe, near Ijebu-Ode. He’s to be buried today in his house beside the Central Mosque, Egbe Ijebu after Zuhr In Sha Allah,” A.I Adebayo Esq, HoC, Adetola-Kaseem (SAN) LP added.

“I have confirmed the death of our Patron and lead counsel in the hijab case from the family. May Allah forgive him and accept his deeds. He was selfless and highly committed to the cause of humanity in general and growth of islam in particular.

 

“We will miss him for his inestimable sacrifice on the path of truth,” Dr. Saheed Ashafa, Amir of Muslim Students’ Society, Lagos State Area Unit, said.
