It gives me great honour to celebrate Mr. Yusuf Olalere (Yusuf) who we had the privilege of having as one of our Virtual Interns for the recently concluded Primus Grace LP Virtual International Arbitration Internship.
I was excited when I received a message from Yusuf informing me he finished with a First Class from the Nigerian Law School. I was even more delighted and full of admiration for him when I saw the messge by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan that Yusuf is one of the five students who recently graduated with First Class from the six campuses of the Nigerian Law School this year.
It would be recalled that Yusuf also graduated from the University of Ibadan with First Class Honours and a CGPA of 6.4/7.0, carting away several prizes including Best Graduating Male Student, Faculty of Law; Best Graduating Student, Department of Public Law, Best Student in Constitutional Law; Vice Chancellor Award/Prize for First Class Students; 2nd Overall Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Law; 2nd Runner-up and Finalist, SimmonsCooper National Advocacy Contest on Energy Law and Antitrust Law within the Legal Framework of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2019 and Lagos State Electric Power Sector Reform Law 2018, amongst others.
While at the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan (UI), Yusuf was the Attorney-General of the Law Students Society 2018/2019 Academic Session and in this capacity, set up a new Code of Conduct for the Faculty of Law, in compliance with the Council of Legal Education Code of Conduct for Law Students. He was equally the Legal Adviser for the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources Student Association, UI; Head of Chambers, Augustine Nnamani Student Chambers, UI 2019, amongst others.
A budding scholar and cutting-edge researcher, Yusuf has additional certifications from the United Nations Institute for Economic Development and Planning (UNIDEP) on Making the African Continental Free Trade Area Work and a Diploma Certificate in Intellectual Property with Distinction awarded by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), amongst others.
An Alternative Dispute Resolution enthusiast with bias for Arbitration with Negotiation as well as the commercial/finance angle of transactions or briefs, Yusuf is a Candidate for the Chartered Institute of Finance Analyst (CFA) and is well published.
Yusuf, it’s my sincere prayer that the most gracious God continue to bless and prosper you as well make His face shine upon you. May your light ever shine and may it never go dim. May this new feat herald in greater tidings than you’ve ever known. Hearty congratulations on this great feat and milestone and may the blessings remain. May the universe be kind to you and may the odds ever be in favour, now and ever more (Amen)!
