The Federal Ministry of Education through the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies said it had released the 2017 June/July Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School examination results in Arts and Science subjects.
Our correspondent learnt that the examination was conducted for 38,192 candidates drawn from 25 states, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Acting Registrar of the board, Prof Muhammad Abdullahi, who confirmed the release of the results to newsmen in a briefing in Zaria, Kaduna State, said 26,105 candidates sat for Arabic, 23,378 took Mathematics while English had 22,746 candidates.
The NBAIS registrar noted that Arabic, English, Islamic Studies and Mathematics were attempted by all the candidates, while Quranic studies and three science subjects were attempted by some of the candidates, depending on their choices.
Abdullahi said, “We shall soon make a public analysis of the results, indicating the performances of each state especially in the core subjects from the maximum of subjects they registered for. We have also commenced preparations for the November/December external examination. We will announce the dates shortly.”
Our correspondent learnt that the examination results were officially released on October 31, and candidates who finished from the Islamic schools had started checking them online.
The NBAIS was approved by the National Council on Education in February 2011, as a national examination and regulatory body which covers the entire country with over 900 recognised Islamic schools and colleges.
