Saturday 7th October, 2017 marked another landmark in the history of Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Osun Area Unit as new set of executive officers emerged at the Conference held at MSSN Osun Area Unit’s IVC permanent site in Oogi.
The Conference produced Ustadh Jeleel Arikewuyo and Hajia Serifah Abiona as the Amir and Amirah respectively.
The Shurah headed by Dr Abdul Waasi Akinbode who doubles as the MSSN B-Zone Secretary announced the names of the new executive members after the outgone excos headed by Ustadh (Builder) Bashir Olasunkanmi had been desolved
The new Amir had served in various position of authority in the Society in the past. He is the immediate past Amir of Osun Central 1 Area Council and one time Amir Osun North East 1 Area Council when schooling at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
The new Amirah, Hajia Serifah Abiona from MSSN Ila-Orangun was returned. Sister Aisha Olagunju from Ido-Osun came in as Naibatul Amira (returned).
The present Amir of MSSN Ede Central Branch, Alh. Waliyulahi Abdul Hamid, emerged as the Naibul Amir/IVC Organizer.
Other executive members from MSSN Osogbo Central Branch are: Ustadh Jeleel Jamiy, Bro Abdul Hakeem Abdur Rauf and Umu Abdur Raheem Alimah Aliy Bankole as Islamic Affairs Secretary 1, Asset Maintenance Officer 3 and Secretary to the Sisters Circle respectively.
The immediate past Amir, Builder Bashir Olasunkanmi is ex-officio 1.
In his acceptance speech, the new Amir Ustadh Jeleel Arikewuyo craved for the support of every members in the herculean task ahead.
He reiterated the mission and vision of the MSSN to work relentlessly towards the establishment of a Society that fosters all round human development.
The new executive officers have three years to paddle the canoe of the Society.
