The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria is organising a prayer session for safe return of the kidnapped Students of Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe.
Recall that six Students of the College were abducted recently in their hostel.
In a press statement signed by the Lagos State President of MSSN to announce the annual “Iftar 5000” (Feeding of 5000 fasting Muslims) of the organization, Dr. Saheed Ashafa, urged the Muslims to utilize the blessings of the month of Ramadan to beseech Allah’s mercy on the Students in captivity. He emphasised that with strong faith and sincere devotion, the Students will return safely.
Ashafa said, “We have been in fervent prayer since the Students were kidnapped. We therefore urge all faithful Muslims to join us as we stage a public session of prayer on this same subject matter. While the government and security agencies are out executing plans on the field to bring back our Students, we won’t stop praying and we believe they will return soonest.”
While appreciating the gallant stride and selfless sacrifice being demonstrated by security agents in the process of rescuing the Students, Ashafa appealed to the Parents of the victims to remain faithful in the efforts of the government and security agents in ensuring safe return of the Children.
“Reports available so far have shown that both the State government and security agencies are relentless in the rescue mission. We should note that while our Students are still in captivity, those in charge of rescue need not expose all the strategies being employed for security reasons. Parent should continue to pray.
“Our Iftar 5000 will hold on Thursday 8th June at Alausa Central Mosque, there the prayer will hold on safety of all Students in the State,” Ashafa said.
