MSSNLagos ex-Welfare officer bags Ajede award

The Senior Assistant Registrar of the Lagos State University, LASU, Sadiq Afinah has received the 2019 Ajede Pride Award for his immense contribution to the development of the community.

The award was presented to him during the 30th edition of the Ajede Luwasa Day 2019 celebration at the Alajede Palace in Ijede Local Council Development Area of Lagos.

The Chairman of the event, Engineer Akeem Lamidi explained that the award was to appreciate the distinguished sons and daughters of Ijede community who have contributed to the development of the town.

Presenting the award, The chairman of Ijede Development Foundation, Alhaji Shamsideen Salu urged the recipients to continue to be a good ambassadors of Ijede town.

“Ajede Pride award is presented to you in recognition of your contributions to the overall growth and development of Ijede Kingdom”

Mr Sadiq Afinah a seasoned administrator, an entrepreneur, a business consultant, a facilitator and a farmer described the award as a motivation.

“I am a community person, the award will further motivate me to do more by giving back to the society that produced me. I am honoured and I thank the organizers for the show of love”, he said.

Afinah is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers & Administrators of Nigeria (FIPMA), member of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (MANUPA). And an Ambassador of Emerging Political Leader (EPL).

The awardee is the Assistant General Secretary of Ijede Resource Forum, an Alumnus of Lagos State University and Lagos State Polytechnic, where he studied Business Administration and Management. He was also the Vice President, Graduate Members Association (GRAMA).

In a chat with Community Hetald, many residents of Ijede, a riverine community in Ikorodu Division of Lagos State described the one-week evnt as a memorable one.

Other notable sons of Ijede that were equally honoured include: the Leader of Ijede LCDA legislative arm, Mr Akeem Shita, Former Chairman of the Ikorodu Branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, SOK Shillings and Prof Hakeem
