A faith-based organization, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has lauded members of the 9th National Assembly for fast-tracking the screening and confirmation of the 43 ministerial nominees presented to them by President Muhammadu Buhari,
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan through its Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the organization described the lawmakers as progressive citizens for displaying such act of patriotism.
According to it, the speedy clearance of the nominees, their confirmation and early completion of the exercise,is an indication of better things to come in Nigeria.
“ This 9thSenate mean business; it is people-friendly and truly Nigerian. Above all, it is progressive, dynamic and patriotic,” it noted.
MURIC observed that the screening was a clear departure from similar exercises in the past, when “nominees were scape-goated and rejected out of spite.”
The organisation congratulated the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, for his cool-headedness, maturity and statesmanship.
It urged the senate president to remain focused and continue cooperating with the executive for a better and greater Nigeria.
