10TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY LECTURE OF NAVIGATOR COMMUNICATION AGENCY OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY
Navigator Communication Agency is a press outfit established in 2007 by Dr. AbdulLateef Adeleke. This Organisation is made up of Muslim students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State who are of sound mind and God-fearing, with the purpose of advancing and developing their writing and oratory skills, towards the upliftment of intellectual abilities of the members. Cohabiting in the society in a God-fearing manner for the sole purpose of developing the community.
The 10th year anniversary lecture is aimed at enlightening the public especially Muslim students on the essence of oratory skills in propagation of ideals of Islam. Africans and indeed Nigerians are said to have a poor reading culture. This is saddening as it has eaten deep into the fabric of the Muslim society. The one who can’t read cannot write.
In order to reinvigorate reading culture among Muslim Students, the Agency staged a Poetry contest with the theme “Notable inventions by Muslims”. The winners of these contest will be awarded on the day of the anniversary Lecture.
Lastly, an erudite scholar, a communicator and an academician have been invited to deliver the Anniversary Lecture. Professor Taofeeq AbdulAzeez from the Department of English and Literary Studies University of Abuja will be taking us through a breathtaking session on the topic “Communication as a means of Da’wah in the 21st century: Spectrum and Stricture”
The lecture will hold insha Allah on Sunday December 3, 2017 at Faculty of Administration extension building by 9:00 am.
