Therefore, it is a period to glorify Almighty Allah for his provision of grace and mercy upon us.
As we join our women in the celebration of their compliance to the commandment of their Lord, our Lord, we also implore them to remain pious, modest and promote peace in accordance to the basic principles of Islam which cuts across peace, love, diligence, sincerity, confidence and prudence. We also urge them to resist any form of violence and extremism that may jeopardize the peace of the society.
In the same vein, we urge Muslim men to continue to thread the path of fairness, honesty and diligence in accordance with the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Holy Prophet (Sallah lah Alai wa sallah) in the treatment of our women. This is because Muslim men should be the first to tell the world that Muslim women are not subject of silence and repression, not only in words but also in actions.
Finally, humanity is the hallmark of Islam. Therefore, we are using this period to intimate the critics of Hijab, especially in Nigeria to make rigorous research concerning the use of Hijab in Islam in order for them to be objective and fair in their treatment of hijab debates in the country.
