New Turaki Of Ilorin Unveils Agenda

Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the newly appointed Turaki of Ilorin, has promised to carry out all the duties and responsibilities attached to the title.

Mustapha made the pledge on Saturday in Ilorin while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines of a thanksgiving to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, by his kinsmen from the Gambari community.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who was elated at the appointment, pledged to continue the good works that earned him the chieftaincy title.

“I feel highly honoured and elated that I have been found worthy of this title, Turaki of Ilorin.

“I want to thank his Royal Highness, and the good people of Ilorin Emirate, for finding me worthy of this title.

“I pray to Almighty Allah to guide and give me the wisdom, and good health to continue to do the good works that they have appointed me for.
“I say a very big thank you to the people of Ilorin Emirate.

“For my people, they should expect the good work that the title beholds.

“I pray that the Almighty Allah will give me the wisdom to represent them very well,” he said.
Mustapha, renowned for his philanthropy in the emirate, urged the people to continue to live in peace and prayed for sustainable harmony that Kwara was named after.

He also advised the people to see themselves as their brothers’ keepers.

NAN reports that the politician, who is the founder of Saliu Mustapha Foundation, was appointed the fourth Turaki of Ilorin, to replace immediate former Senate President Bukola Saraki, who was elevated in 2018, as Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin.

Mustapha was joined by prominent kinsmen from Gambari quarters to appreciate the Emir for the honour done him and the community at large.
The Emir, while speaking, commended the honouree for living to impact on the people of the city and its environ.

Sulu-Gambari preached for peace, unity and love among the descendants of Ilorin and Mustapha’s immediate environment.

He, however, warned the new title holder never to drop the good work that earned him the recognition.

This recognition, he said, should be seen by the Turaki as the beginning of many good things to unfold in his life.
