Eid prayer in Oyo


While delivering khutbah(sermon) after the two-rakat prayer at Ansaruddeen
Eed praying ground, Alagbon-Owode, Oyo, the imam, Professor Nuraen Tanimoowo stressed the importance of imbibing the culture of sacrifice for national unity and development.



He called on all religious scholars and leaders to, as a matter of urgency, embark on aggressive enlightenment with a view to educating Nigerians on the evils and consequences of hate speech and false news, adding that such acts contradict the teachings of the religion of Islam and is capable of heating up the polity.



Professor Tanimoowo however enjoined all Muslims to emulate prophet Ibrahim in their dealings by being faithful, devouted to Allah and honest to their promises.



Dignitaries at this year’s eedul kabir festival include Alhaji AbdWahab Yusuf(aka Biiznillah), Alhaji Muhammad Raji, Chairman, Ansarud-deen Society of Nigeria, Oyo chapter, Alhaji Jolaade, Alhaji AbdWasiu Badmus, imam Asaleye central mosque and Honourable Kamil Mudasiru Akunlabi.
