As i take my long drive to work
I nod my head to thoughts that ruminate my head.
Or is it the blast from my stereo that sways my head?
I am now, with replenished energy, for
it’s another Monday, for work.
It’s another Monday of sadness,
Another Monday of woes and pains,
Another Monday of hopeless hope
on the streets of Palestine,
It is, another Monday for the reign of hunger.
But i do not know.
I once knew but then, i never cared
And as my nonchalance towards that knowledge grew,
My ignorance enveloped me and
I stopped knowing, a long time ago.
As the thuds of thunder expresses empathy for the oppressed,
As the wind blows, violently in mourning the dead,
I sit here behind the wheels,
Thinking of food, and fees and payrolls,
Making plans for three months off my crossroads. Forgetting that my success, lies in that of every other Muslim.
