The formal turbaning reception of Chief Imam of Ife Land, Shaykh Abdus-Sami Abdul-Hamid Muhamadur-Raji II, held on September 3rd, 2016 at the New Eid Playing Ground Ilode, Ifewara, Ile-Ife.
In his remarks, the Chief Imam of Ifeland, Alhaji Abdus-Samii Abdul-Hamid acknowledged all that graced the occasion, pledged not to disappoint Allah, Ooni and the entire Ife Muslim Community.
The chief imam vowed to promote peace, foster unity among various groups and would ensure spiritual, moral and academic development of the people of Ifeland
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, charged the new Chief Imam of Ifeland to serve Allah and the entire Muslim community diligently and relentlessly.
He lauded Allah for not allowing selection to caused destruction of lives and properties, but peaceful coexistence reigning before, during and after the selection.
Oba Ogunwusi charged the celebrant to see himself as Allah’s servant and messenger who will serve wholeheartedly, knowing fully that only Allah investiture one to the throne.
The monarch appealed to the cleric to be a good ambassador of Allah and ready to uplift the tenet of Islam, promised to support the Muslim community in Ifeland.
In his address, Prof Saka Fawole, the Executive Secretary, the Chief-Imam-in Council, Ife Muslim Community, Ile-Ife, called the celebrant to humble, dedicate and be committed fully to the task ahead of him.
Fawole called him to always make himself available for the service called for, noted that everyone will give account of his deeds on the day of judgement.
Among other clerics present are Chief Imam Osogbo Land, Imam Musa Muhammad Rabiu Animasahun; Chairman of the occasion, Mallam Yusuf Ali (SAN); Aare Musulumi of Yorunaland, Alhaji Dawud Akinola; Asiwaju Adinni of Yorubaland, Alhaji (Chief) Khamis Tunde Badmus; and Chief Imam of Ijebu land, Imam Abdur Rasaq Salaudeen.
Also, traditional rulers including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his chiefs.
