Mus’ab bin Sa’d bin Abu Waqqas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Sa’d considered himself better than his inferiors, so the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said to him, “You are given help and provision because of your weak ones”. [Al-Bukhari].
It is quite devastating that many people of affluence look down upon the poor and resourceless people of the society and consider themselves superior to others. As true believers, our Top banana position shouldn’t be a reason for building a tall fence over the weak ones, rather, we are expected to build a longer table to accommodate the indigents. Therefore, we should learn to regard the weak and poor as expected, for Allah has provided for us in order to help them, additionally, our increase in provision may be as a result of their prayers for us. May Allah grant us a compassionate mind… Ameen
