The Speaker of the Kwara House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad, on Monday reminded Muslim Ummah to imbibe the values, virtues and teachings of prophet Muhammad as Muslims all over the world commence Ramadan.
Ahmad gave this advice in his Ramadan message issued in Ilorin by his media aide, Malam Shuaib Abdul nadir.
The speaker advised Muslims to fast in the sacred month and strictly adhere to the rules and principles as stipulated in the Qur’an and prophet Muhammad’s teachings.
He described the holy month as a great opportunity for Muslims to seek Allah’s favour, forgiveness and assess their deeds with a view of improving themselves spiritually and move closer to their creator.
“It is expected of every of Muslim regardless of class to freely share love while the rich and influential must also express kindness to the underprivileged in the society” the statement said.
The speaker advised Muslims to fervently offer prayers for peace in the country to surmount various challenges being experienced in different sectors, especially security, kidnapping and incessant and arbitrary killing.
Ahmad further encouraged Muslims to offer ceaseless prayers in the holy month for the nation’s leadership, especially as the country is in the transition period.
