Muslim entrepreneurs have joined President Muhammad Buhari call on patronising of made in Nigeria goods and services.
Recall that the President during the 22nd Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja urged Nigerian to change their attitudes from depending on external strength but to believe on our own.
In-line with this, Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Odiolowo Ojuwoye Area Council Entrepreneurs, launched an economic initiative tagged, ‘ideological marketing’.
With this, the entrepreneurs urged Muslims to assist other brethren during this recession period by patronising their products.
This initiative came up at the online feedback session of the quarterly skills acquisition programs organised for Muslim students.
The representative of the Council’s entrepreneurs and project coach, Ridwan Morohunranti, specifically urged MSSN members to look inward by patronising made by MSSN goods and services.
He said, “We have identified our strength as a result of resources available and various skills we have instilled on our members including balm, liquid soap, Vaseline, shampoo, cooking stove wool and other consumable products well prepared to meet up with the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration Control (NAFDAC) standard for the approval purpose.
“We also have experts among us who produce paints at standard level in large quantities to meet up with the customers need.
“We therefore appeal to members across Lagos Area Unit to kindly embrace the idea of Ideological marketing as it will not only create job opportunities for the members, but also circulate our wealth among us instead of giving it out to the marketers who have a completely different ideologies.
“This initiative will also give us opportunity to care for what our members consume because it has been observed that so many products are now in less quality or being made from the chemical compositions (synthetic), as against the natural means. This is in order to reduce the cost of production in this economy recession as well as to be a market determinant with the huge population of our members.”
Recall that the MSSN Lagos Lagos State Area Unit held Holiday Training Course (HTC) camp between July 20th and 24th, 2016 to train Muslims on various skills.
The Amir (President) of the MSSN Lagos, Mallam Saheed Ashafa, said the training was to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship among Muslims.
Among the skill are Shoe Making; Soap Making; Event planning/Decoration; Baking; Generator Servicing; and Barbing.
