Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has resubmitted a list of commissioner-nominees to the Lagos State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

It’ll be recalled that the Assembly earlier rejected 17 of the 39 nominees, prompting the Governor to make revisions.

The newly nominated commissioners are Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, Tolani Sule Akibu, Yekini Nurudeen Agbaje, Iyabode Oyeyemi Ayoola, Dr. Oluwarotimi Omotola Wahab Fashola and Sola Shakirudeen Giwa.

 

Sanwoolu insists on renominating 11 rejected nominees

It will be noticed that the resubmitted list which has one additional nominee to make 18 includes Mr Olugbenga Omotoso and Prof. Akinola Emmanuel Abayomi, who were among the initially rejected nominees.

Others whom Sanwoolu insists on and resubmitted are Engr. Olalere Odusote, Barakat Akande Bakare, Cecilia Dada, Abayomi Samson Oluyomi, Mosopefoluwa George, Oluwaseun Oriyomi Osiyemi, Olumide Oluyinka, Mr Samuel Egube and Folashade Kaosarat Ambrose-Medem.

 

Assembly to re-screen rejected nominees and others

The Lagos State House of Assembly will conduct the screening process to determine their eligibility and suitability for the commissioner positions, though 11 were earlier nominated before their rejection. Will they be confirmed? Lagosians anticipate.
