Saraki mourns late Islamic Cleric, Khalifah Rabi’u

Saraki, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, said he received the news of the death of the late Islamic cleric with sadness.

“The death of this outstanding religious leader and an icon of entrepreneurship, philanthropy and humility is a great loss to the nation.

“As leader of Tijaniyya sect in West Africa, the late Khalifah made huge sacrifices in the promotion of Islam and Islamic scholarship”, he said.

Saraki noted that though the death of the cleric was painful, he had consolation in the fact that he lived a worthy life.

While condoling with the immediate family of the deceased, the government and people of Kano state and the Muslim community, Saraki prayed Allah to grant him a place among “the righteous ones in Aljannah firdaus,”

The late Islamic scholar died on Tuesday in a London hospital after a brief illness.
