GLOBACOM IS ADDRESSING REPORTED SIM CARD SAGA

We refer to the press statement issued by us yesterday Wednesday 1st July, 2020 entitled MURIC TACKLES NCC, GLO ON SIM REGISTRATION.

We are pleased to report that Globacom officials called the sister involved yesterday (Mrs. Mutiat Oba) and they apologized to her.

The officials also called MURIC headquarters. They blamed the Glo staff for overzealousness and confirmed that Globacom does not request customers in hijab to expose their ears during capturing.

MURIC however requested Globacom to issue a public statement on this matter (confirming that it does not ask women in hijab to expose their ears during capturing) in order to educate both its staff and the public. We promised to forget the issue once this is done.

We hereby appeal to Muslims throughout Nigeria to remain calm as we are very hopeful that the issue will be resolved amicably. MURIC is willing to take its hands off the case once Globacom issues the requested statement.
