His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto and the leader of Nigeria’s over 110 million Muslims will address the 7th Global Waqf Conference on the development and prospects of Islamic Endowment (Waqf) in Nigeria and West Africa.
Other speakers at the conference include H.E. Ali Almutawa, UAE, H.S.H Prince Dr Bandar Bin Salman Bin Muhammad Alsaud, KSA, Dr Bandar M.H. Alhajjar (Chairman Islamic Development Bank Group) and other notable scholars and professionals from the UK, USA, Australia, Bosnia, Malaysia, Indonasia, Japan, Qatar and so on. A presentation will also be made by Sadaukin Sokoto, Alh. Muhammad Lawal Maidoki, who is also the Deputy Secretary of the World Zakah Forum and Chairman, Sokoto Zakah and Endowment Commission.
The Conference would be held at the Al-Madina Islamic University in Malaysia, Monday 11th – Tuesday 12th November, 2019 insha Allah.
According to the organizers, the 7th GWC2019 will focus on establishing clarity and a collective understanding of the role and potential which the millennial hold in the revival and facilitation of Waqf development on a global scale through the promotion of new economic alternatives, technologies and innovations.
The Conference has earlier been conducted in Bangkok, Thailand in 2018, Pekan Baru, Indonesia in 2017, Swansea, Wales in 2016, Moscow, Russia in 2015, Istanbul in 2014 while the inaugural conference was held in Kuala Lumpur in 2013.
Hopefully, Nigeria will also join the list of the host of that conference in the nearest future insha Allah.
