The Sultan of Sokoto and President Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar will on Sunday in declare open the 102nd Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), B-Zone, at its permanent site.

A statement jointly signed by the B-Zone Coordinator of MSSN, Mushafau Alaran and the PRO, Momoh Bashir, states that the 10-day programme will hold at the society’s permanent site, KM 30, Imolisa Village, Lagos-Ibadan express way, Ogun State.

The Sultan will equally inspect all the on-going projects at the site and commission the completed ones.

Also, the Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II is slated to deliver the 102nd Vacation Lecture on the theme “In defence of our faith” at the formal opening.

According to the conveners, the theme is geared towards calling on Muslims to be steadfast in the wake of the current economic recession in the country.

MSSN says the event will be chaired by Dr. Sakariyau Babalola, the Deputy President-General of the NSCIA, and President Muslim Ummah of South West of Nigeria (MUSWEN), while the Aare (President) Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola will be the father of the day.

The formal opening will also witness the presence of MSSN leaders like the NSCIA Secretary-General Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, MUSWEN Executive Secretary Prof. Daud Noibi, erudite scholars, amongst other dignitaries.
