Baring any last minute change, a disciplinary panel set up by the Lagos State University over alleged assault and abduction of the former Students’ Union leader in the school will meet on Thursday.

The iWitness authoritatively gathered that investigation by the panel seems to have found more students culpable.

It was also learnt that panel, during its Thursday meeting, would re-examine the suspension of one of the students.

Recall that The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has suspended three students with immediate effect for attempting to abduct the LASU Students’ Union president, ‘Tayo Sekoni on his way home on July 28, 2016.

The iWitness NG ‎authoritatively gathered that the suspended students attempted to abduct Sekoni for opposing their ambition at the convention of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

The affected students are: Oladayo Mojeeb Babatunde, 500L, School of Transport; Adebanjo Fatai Adekoya, 500L, Faculty of Law; Fola Kosoko, fresh LASU graduate

A circular obtained by iWitness NG read in part, “‎The students remain suspended pending their appearance before the Students’ Disciplinary Committee of the university.

“The aforementioned students/graduates have been strongly instructed not to participate in the socio-economic of LASU until further decisions are taken. In addition, the suspended students/graduate are not to be seen w‎ithin the university premises except on invitation‎.”

But the suspended students claimed they were not given fair chance to defend themselves.
