We envisage a prosperous nation while we disregard the homes we build or whom we choose as partners. The greatest of mirages is seen from setting an agenda to change our nation but still not carefully selecting a life partner.
The prophet of Islam (pbuh) warned sternly that every man should look into where his semen will be poured into. This is as a result of not choosing anybody as a partner and being selective when you want to choose a wife.
Fulfilment of the purpose of God for mankind requires that humans intermarry and procreate. One can say that Islam regards family as indispensable for the fulfillment of the divine purpose. Therefore, Islam does not condemn all enjoyment that might arise from any legitimate marriage, rather there is always a reward for every “procreational meeting” between couples. However, when the marriage is solely built on lustful intimacy, love syndrome of romantism any any of the flimsy thing it is built on today, problem of getting a blurry future sets in.
Husbands and wives are created for differing but mutually complementary functions. Let the husband go out to seek for lawful provisions for the family and return home to give the wife her “rights” and pay attention to the kids. The wife should take care of the home, go out to work to be relevant for herself and Islam and also give the husband his “rights”; everything should work to complement one another, ideally!
Pathetically, a home like this is a diamond on earth, very scarce and almost impossible to find in some localities as a result of not being selective as a husband when choosing a wife and not being patient as a wife when accepting proposals of men.
Marriage is a shield of virtue and also a shield to combat moral decadence in the society but unfortunately and pitifully, the homes we are building are either hideouts from those menaces or a major shareholder of the corrupt models in the society.
Every well meaning youth and Islamic workers should shed tears profusely for the homes that are visible to us in our society. They are crying bitterly for help and resuscitation and the root causes are the parents.
A man should not be in a hurry to fulfill his desire for a loving, beautiful woman but should pay rapt attention to who she really is. If she share the same vision with him or she feel nothing is wrong. He should pay attention to her character, if it is worth emulating or not. He should pay attention to her understanding of Islam and her knowledge, if she’s worth hiring as your children teacher. It is more than discussing the number of children you will want to have or what food you’d love to eat at night.
Serious discussions that will not only be objective but also be vision oriented. In light of this, conclusion of strategic plans to train their children and change their environments will be achieved and strictly monitored.
A woman should likewise not be in a hurry to say “Yes” to the tall, good-looking, dark guy who keep on pushing for her, not all persistence is a show of true love and that should not blind her eyes to make her engage him for serious talks that will better herself and her children yet unborn.
In conclusion, the purpose of marriage should not be different from the established purpose, which is for the religion. After that, plans should be made for the home to be the institution that will shine light to the society yet be glowing of light.
May Allah grant the singles a good spouse and correct the affairs of the married.
