A new college in Manchester, United Kingdom is to train imams and faith leaders according to British needs, values and norms.
The centre will specialise in teaching anti-extremism subjects in order to counter the extremist ideology and the radicalisation of young British Muslims.
This is a first of a kind institute that has been established in the UK that will train in a holistic and integration based manner.
The college is a continuation of the work of the Peace Education Programme that was initiated by Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri the founder of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, who launched the famous Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings, and last year launched the Islamic Curriculum on Peace and Counter-Terrorism.
The college will train Imams and teachers who will be immersed with the true essence of Islamic teachings along with being fully trained on how the teachings complement western and British life. So that when they work as Imams and teachers in the community they will propagate the message of peace, love and integration and that Muslims should live as active and proud members of British society.
The College based in Old Trafford, Manchester is situated in an ideal location with a large number of the Muslim community living in surrounding areas. (pressat)
