As the universe celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child on 11th October, 2023, Teenage Triangle in partnership with Strategy for Mentoring Initiative and Leadership Empowerment (S.M.I.L.E) staged awareness outreach at Ijeshatedo Grammar School, Okota, Isolo, Lagos.

Over 70 students across Ijeshatedo Junior Grammar School and Ijeshatedo Senior Grammar School were exposed to the fact that the girl child needs to be invested in as a potential leader for change.

Mrs Ajibola Babalola, Head of Communications at SMILE, charged the female students to lead for change as she discussed extensively on the theme “Invest in Girls’ Right: Our leadership, Our well-being”.

The students also had the opportunity to be enlightened by two other erudite personality, Miss Suliat Olagunju and Mrs Aduragbemi Ochi who discussed the topics “Dating in Adolescence and its effect” and “Girls as an innate treasure” respectively.

The team lead of Teenage Triangle, Najmudeen Mustopha Olorunwa, stated that Teenage Triangle as a business oriented hub found it necessary to stage the Awareness Outreach as part of the Scholarship Scheme of the hub.

“It’s high time the whole word invest in girls, as they are actually potential leaders for change” the team lead added.

Olorunwa further appreciated SMILE for partnering towards the project. He also extended his appreciation to Mr. Akinboro and Mrs Olowogboyega, the Principals of Ijeshatedo Junior Grammar School and Ijeshatedo Grammar School respectively.
