The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government Hon.Jelili Adewale Sulaimon has organized free eye screening and surgery to rescue residents from the clutches of blindness and poverty.
Speaking during the flag of ceremony of the free eye screening and surgery program organized by Alimosho Local Government in collaboration with the Muslim World League, said the idea to venture into this humanitarian initiative was borne out of the fact that many people are having difficulties with clear vision, despite the challenges inherent in bad vision, they lack the financial capabilities to seek medical attention.The economic resources of virtually impaired person is limited.Ine of the reasons we financed this program is to improve the economy, social, political and psychological well being if our people.An upward mobil person is bound to be economically , politically, socially and educational active.He enjoined the residents to give priority attention to their health before it got out of hand.
This exercise was in two segments, our partners,the World Muslim League, requested for people that had challenges with their eyes, especially cataract and Pterygium. The mission of our partners was to give cherished Service to the patients free of charge.The responsibilities of the Local Government was to provide the venue, accommodation, Feeding, security and other logistics supports to the experts.
The Screening to identify those who needed the surgery was the responsibilities of the Local Government, which lasted for four days,a non Governmental organization ; Zamzam Medical Services, provided the necessary expertise to screen those with challenges in their eyes.During the screening, some people received Free drugs to correct the defects in their eyes, Some were billed for free eye glasses , where five hundred people received free eye Glasses and 373 people regained their sight through Free eye surgery that lasted for another four days.
The move by our administration to take up this responsible is devoid of Politics, religious bias, gender, creed, nationality or race.He appealed to the beneficiaries to vote massively for the APC candidates, because it was the party that gave him the vehicle to Carry out the exercise for the benefits of the residents.
The Director General Muslim World League Sheik Alamin Hamza said that the fit recorded by Alimosho Local Government was the first attempt by the League to be hosted in the Southwestern part of Nigeria and the first Local Government in Nigeria to collaborate with the organization on Eye Surgery.He said, “the Muslim World League is an intervention program by Muslim Professionals to give back to the society and rescue the vulnerable, the aged, children and others, Alimosho Local Government under the chairmanship of Hon Jelili Adewale Sulaimon has achieved what some states in Nigeria could not achieve”.He charged the beneficiaries to preach religious harmony ,peace ,love and oneness at all times.
Jelili and other leaders at the occasion received Award for their humanitarian service to the people.
