Oluwo of Iwo, Emperor Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi,Telu 1,has charged Yoruba Muslims’ and Islamic scholars’ to join active politics and run for political offices.
He made this known last Tuesday at the ongoing Taawun national conference in Iwo, Osun State.
Oluwo, accompanied by Sheriki Musulumi of Iwoland, Alhaji Moshood Okunola, the ” asked if living in abject poverty or as valueless Muslims’ is part of Islam or the nature of Muslims. He further inquired to know if having Islamic cleric in a position of authority is a taboo.
He finally charged Muslims to fight ignorance with education, and encouraged them to work towards Islamic development in Yorubaland.
